The Law Firm You Choose Matters

O’Leary, the firm has been providing quality legal representation to the Dutchess County community and beyond for more than 25 years.

We know the law and the strategies that best help our clients achieve success. We are selective about the matters we agree to handle in order to ensure individual attention for all of our clients.

A Holistic Approach – A Strategy For Success

Ostertag O'Leary Barrett & Faulkner takes a holistic approach to solving legal problems effectively and responsibly. We look at the entire picture to highlight potential sources of conflict and options for solutions. We then develop a strategy for success based on years of experience.

We are a small firm that prides itself on taking a small number of cases so each client receives our individual attention. When you retain the firm, you will have a one-on-one relationship with our attorney throughout the representation. Unlike some other firms, you will not be passed off to a legal assistant or paralegal as we take a personal approach to assist our clients.

It All Starts With A Conversation

Our relationship with our clients begins with an initial consultation that is in-depth and comprehensive. While some firms offer free consultations, these meetings are often short in duration or even take place over the telephone, and are more of just an introduction to the attorney and not an opportunity to be fully educated about the issues of your individual case.

We do not offer a free consultation as we spend a significant amount of time getting to know you and the issues that brought you to our firm. We use this information to provide a wide range of options to you so at the conclusion of the consultation, you will be better educated on your rights and the strategy to move forward through a difficult time in your life.

One Approach Does Not Fit All

While we are successful with traditional forms of representation, including litigation, we make sure to discuss all avenues available to a potential client and develop a strategy to move you forward through a difficult time in your life.

Options can range from just being educated on your rights, to negotiating an amicable settlement through a collaborative divorce or another nonadversarial process (e.g., negotiating an agreement), or, if necessary, commencing a legal proceeding.
